I am fundraising for two campaigns: Protection of Indigenous Rights & Refugee and Asylum Seekers.
Story
Mary’s Central Australia Hike for Amnesty
I am looking forward to hiking the beautiful Larapinta Trail in July 2015.
The important part of this challenge is to raise $3000 for Amnesty International Australia, working to protect the Rights of Indigenous Peoples in Australia. I have visited and worked in many places where I have seen the need for Amnesty International first hand.
This time I want to highlight and support two of Amnesty Internationals projects:
Protecting Indigenous Rights.
Amnesty International is committed to ensuring the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples is implemented locally and nationally throughout Australia. You could read more here: www.amnesty.org.au/indigenous-rights/
Support Amnesty to support Refugees.
This fundraising effort will also assist Amnesty investigate human rights abuses against refugees and asylum seekers, and advocate on their behalf to the Australian government. Amnesty encourages governments to increase support for refugees, and work with other NGOs to protect their basic human rights.
With your funds, together we can make a difference through Amnesty International Australia.
Thank you for your support.

Activity
Amnesty International Australia
Amnesty International believes in equal human rights for all. Amnesty International Australia is part of the global movement of more than 7 million individuals committed to defending those who are denied justice or freedom. We work in Australia and around the world to stand up to injustice and protect those facing abuse. To do this, we mobilise people, campaign, conduct research and raise money for our work.
